The Experience
Fleur de Lune reads less like a hotel and more like a private botanical estate that happens to hand you a key. Caribbean-style timber bungalows are set on a hillside above Grande Saline, each one angled so the frangipani, sea grape, and hibiscus outside your louvered doors feel like part of the room. The Lodges (25–50 m²) come with king beds and private Jacuzzis; the villas stretch to 180 m² with two bedrooms, plunge pools, and outdoor dining terraces designed for slow, sun-warmed meals. What to Try
Book the two-bedroom Villa Paradise if you're travelling as a couple or a small family — the private pool and framed garden view are the property's showpiece. Solo travellers and couples on a shorter stay should ask for the Freedom lodge (private terrace) or La Case, which has an outdoor shower under the palms. Add a half-day private catamaran through the concierge and let them book a candlelit in-villa dinner on your last night.
Insider Tip
Grande Saline has no beach bars, no vendors, and no shade — pack water, a sarong, and reef-safe sunscreen from your room before the ten-minute walk down. Go at golden hour (around 5 p.m.) when the day-trippers have cleared out and the salt pond behind the beach turns pink; you'll usually have the sand almost to yourself. If you don't have a rental car, ask reception the night before — the island's taxis stop running early and Saline is a long uphill walk back.
