Barry Rooftop & Club
Nikkei plates, harbor lights, and Cathy Guetta on the decks
Why Go
Perched above Gustavia's yacht-packed harbor, Barry is the island's newest lifestyle address — a rooftop where a candlelit Nikkei dinner slides seamlessly into one of St Barth's most exclusive club nights.
The Experience
Arrive just before sunset and the room feels almost cinematic: teak decking, low amber lighting, and a 180° view over the masts and glowing quays of Gustavia. Service is polished but unstuffy, and the crowd is a very St Barth mix of couples on date night, superyacht guests, and the occasional recognizable face. As plates clear and the music climbs, the space quietly shape-shifts into a full-blown club under the artistic direction of Cathy Guetta — think curated international DJ sets, magnums arriving with sparklers, and a dance floor that doesn't really stop until the small hours. It's the rare spot where you can start with a serious dinner and end the night without ever calling a taxi.
What to Try
The kitchen is Nikkei — Japanese technique with Peruvian brightness — so lean into the raw bar. Order a spread of signature sashimi and one of the reinvented ceviches to share, add a spicy tuna or salmon tiradito, and let the umami-heavy hot plates round things out. On the cocktail side, the mixology program is a big part of the identity: ask the bartender for something built around yuzu, shiso or pisco rather than sticking to the classics.
Insider Tip
Book the rooftop for the 8:30–9pm seating rather than earlier — it lets you slide straight from dessert into the club without losing your table or paying a separate entry, and the DJ warm-up starts right as the espresso martinis land. If you're only coming for the club, call ahead on the club line (+590 690 340949) to secure a table; walk-ins are tight on weekends and around regatta week.
The Practical Stuff
Address: 2 Rue des Dinzey, Gustavia 97133. Rooftop dinner reservations are handled via the SevenRooms link on barrysbh.com; club reservations by phone. Expect St Barth high-season pricing — this is a splurge spot, especially once bottles and champagne are on the table. Dress code is elevated resort: linen and dresses over swimwear, closed shoes preferred once the club opens. Parking in Gustavia is scarce after 7pm, so taxi or walk from a harbor-side hotel.
