Spend a full day beach-hopping on foot along Flamands (the north end is quieter and best for reading), then swim back in time for sundown drinks at the bar. If the surf is up, borrow a boogie board from reception; if it's flat, snorkel the rocks at the western headland.

The address says Gustavia 97133 (that's the island's blanket postal code) but the hotel is actually a 10-minute drive north on Anse des Flamands, not in town. Ask for one of the upper suites — 'Ange 7' or above — for the widest sea view and a breeze that means you can sleep with the doors open. And reserve La Langouste even if you're not staying: locals book the sunset seating a week ahead in high season.
